San Antonio Spurs LogoThe San Antonio Spurs are currently the best team in the NBA with a league leading 62-18 record. The Spurs have won 8 of their last 10 and currently sit atop the Western Conference with a 3.5 game lead over the Thunder. The Spurs are playing solid basketball and their record proves it going 32-8 at home and 32-10 on the road this year! If the playoffs started today they would be the #1 seed and would be playing against the #8 seed Phoenix Suns. With Tony Parker back in the lineup chances are the Spurs would make short order of the Suns and get a little rest to get healthier for this year’s playoff run.

The Thunder, Clippers and Houston Rockets currently round out the top four teams in the West. Both the Thunder and the Clippers are playing solid basketball and are both picked to go deep in the playoffs this year barring any injuries. The Thunder are very happy to have Kendrick Perkins back for the playoffs and hope that he can give them some quality minutes. If the Playoff started today the thunder would host the Dallas Mavericks in what could be Dirks last time to shine as the team is in the rebuilding phase.

Doc Rivers has had the Clippers playing solid basketball all year long and they are poised to make a deep playoff run but that won’t be as easy a task if they have to face the Golden State Warriors in the first round.

The Houston Rockets on the other hand  seemed to have cooled off and are coasting their way into the playoffs but if they are not careful they could quickly drop down to 6th seed as both Portland and Golden State are playing Playoff caliber basketball.

The Phoenix Suns are currently clinging onto the # 8 seed but don’t be surprised if the Memphis Grizzles put together a late run and knock the Suns out of the playoffs all together.

The Lakers and Utah Jazz are in a dogfight for last place in the West…

That’s right the Lakers and Jazz who would have thought it!
